BUCKTOWN

The Edit (new), 1917 N. Damen Ave., 773.252.3350, shoptheedit.com: The Edit gives women an instant wardrobe makeover with a mix of trendy digs and standout staples. A native Chicagoan with fashion retail management experience at several of the city's top boutiques, owner Morgan Gutterman also offers shoppers private parties, personalized shopping and one-on-one styling.


LINCOLN PARK

Killion (new), 1006 W. Armitage Ave., 773.348.2790, killionclothes.com: Chicago designer Dana Killion opened her new Lincoln Park boutique earlier this fall to the delight of fans of her locally exclusive namesake brand. Founding the label in 2008, Dana expanded to a full collection in 2009 with contemporary fashions that embody fresh, modern design with an architecturally inspired approach and an elegantly effortless aesthetic. The store includes apparel as well as an array of smaller coordinating items such as jewelry, belts and handbags.



MICHIGAN AVENUE/
GOLD COAST/RIVER NORTH

Henri Bendel (new), 835 N. Michigan Ave., 312.951.1928, henribendel.com: Move over, New York City: Chicago fashionistas are set to get their style fix this season at the new Henri Bendel store. The 2,000-plus square-foot space brings Fifth Avenue fashion to the Windy City with its signature and classic mix of luxury and heritage. Leather handbags, cocktail rings, bangles and other unique items, such as edibles and fragrances, are sure to spice up the Gold Coast—just in time for the holidays.

Free People (new), 835 N. Michigan Ave., freepeople.com: The Mag Mile gets its first dose of the wildly popular Philadelphia-based women's fashion and accessories line, Free People, opening this winter at Water Tower Place. Known for its youthful,
fashion-forward styles, the brand's latest locale offers all the U.S exclusives, home items and vintage styles that you've come to expect from the brand. Go on—get free!


Tory Burch (move), 45 E. Oak St., 312.280.0010, toryburch.com: Tory Burch relocates to a new two-story boutique on Oak Street, following in the footsteps of the brand's first flagship on Madison Avenue in New York City. Regarded as one of the top designers in women's luxury fashion today, the store's pieces are uniquely influenced and inspired by art, photography, films, fashion and travel, and the brand's new digs reflect its style more than ever.

Swarovski (second location), 835 N. Michigan Ave., swarovski.com: Water Tower Place gets bedazzled this November, as Swarovski expands from its smaller residence on Michigan Avenue to a new fixture within the epic shopping center. A leading designer and producer of fashion jewelry and crystal décor since 1895, Swarovski brings along a wide selection of wares, dazzling shoppers with its sparkle and shine.

Haberdash EDC (new), 611 N. State St., haberdashmen.com: Haberdash opened its doors in Chicago in 2005 and has since become a shopping haven for fashion-savvy males, blending old-school tradition with modern style. Owners Adam Beltzman and Jerry Kamhi introduce the newest addition to the Haberdash family this winter with Haberdash EDC. Short for "everyday carry," this military term refers to all the items or gadgets a man carries in his everyday life. Set to open just before Thanksgiving, EDC will feature men's footwear and accessories such as pocketknives, pens, flashlights and tech equipment to outfit the Chicago man with everything he'll need to thrive in the city's contemporary environment.


 

 

NORTH SHORE

Kamp Gallery (move), 996 Green Bay Rd., 847.441.7999, kampgallery.com: One of Chicago's finest art dealers, Kamp Gallery, closes the doors to its two current locations to open a new locale in posh, quaint Hubbard Woods on Chicago's North Shore. Kamp Gallery proudly features European
masters from 1600–1970, American artists from 1750–1970 as well as other contemporary Russian paintings and Modernist pieces, attracting art collectors from near and far.



WICKER PARK

C. Dahlstedt (new), 2028 W. Division St., 773.687.8273, cdahlstedt.com: Both men and women are sure to flock to this brand-new boutique, owned and produced by Columbia College's Carl Dahlstedt (a Driehaus Award for Fashion Excellence recipient), who brings a sleek, contemporary design to the city with his first retail shop. His collection features Italian and French fabric and includes upscale dresses, skirts and tops for women and shirts for gentlemen, with plans to stock suiting by Thanksgiving.
